Q: How many roads must a man walk down?
A: 42.

We love you too, PlatypusRex. See you on the other side, maybe.

This seems like an odd place to mourn the passing of the A.V. Club, but here goes:

And she's allowed to be pissed and maybe he was really a shitty husband. I don't doubt it. I've been on the wrong end of this thing before and it sucks. It's been more than two years and while it's long since ceased to be something that consumes me, I doubt I'll ever get to the point where I can think of it or think

I've done Christmas goose before and would do it again. Not terribly inexpensive, though.

To the YouTube!

Raw lamb doesn't smell very good, but as soon as it starts cooking, my mouth starts watering. The smell of lamb being cooked is so good, it's almost pornographic.

Well, as of six years ago when I was there, everything in New Zealand is expensive because the exchange rate is a lot closer than it used to be (I think it's at least a bit more favorable for us Americans now than it was back then).

I've cooked rabbit before. The problem with rabbit is that it has lots and lots of tiny bones, so it's pretty labor-intensive. Also, it doesn't have a ton of flavor. Also, it dries out pretty quickly.

I have thoroughly considered it and come to the conclusion it is not for me.

You can usually find duck and rabbit at more high-end grocery stores. Venison, elk, and buffalo tend to be seasonal.

I love lamb and if I see it on a menu somewhere, chances are good I'll order it. But it's expensive. In New Zealand, I was shocked (and delighted) to find lamb was cheaper than chicken, both at the grocery store and on the menu. Not the case here in the States.

Yes. I rewatch it probably about every year, year and a half or so.

Phrasing!

People who are self-congratulatory about anything are usually dicks.

I think many of us A.V. Clubbers have lived the same experience. But I guess there's two ways to respond to mistreatment, which I'll call the "superhero route" and the "supervillain route", because hey, we're all a bunch of fucking nerds here:

Or it would be, if the average TMZ or US Weekly reader had ever heard of Joss Whedon.

Okay, I really really want to hear that now.

I like Firefly a lot and this is so fucking true it hurts.

I think the meme actually originated on the left.
