Christ, this episode was terrible. Totally squandered what was a really interesting multi-part story up through the first 20 minutes.

Maher is a troll-face meme made flesh. Why is anyone surprised by him acting like a troll? That's what he is. HBO knew it when they hired him. His guests know it when they go on his show. His audience (live and television) knows it when they tune in.

Based on the more recent interviews I've seen of his, I'm not entirely sure he's "all there" mentally. It sounds like he was eccentric on the DS9 set and that has escalated considerably since then.

Take me with you! Take me with you!

OK — I'll buy what you're selling on this one.

Expand it to 20 and that one makes it.

Brilliant.

I agree. He's good, Karl Urban and Zachary Quinto are great, and the rest of the cast gets to basically create characters loosely patterned off the thinly drawn remainder of the TOS ensemble (seriously, Scotty's only personality trait on the show is "Scottish", and Sulu, Uhura, and Chekov are even more anodyne).

The third season is generally poor.

"The Trouble with Tribbles" is just fucking fun. I'll defend that cornball 'til the day I die.

I generally enjoy Avery Brooks' broad, over-emoting style of acting on DS9 — it's sometimes hammy but overall works with the material — but he's genuinely great in that episode, alongside, of course, the incomparable Tony Todd. And the script…

She also is not wearing her engagement ring.

I like the structure of the show that allows for those. I enjoyed them in S1 too.

Francesca's depression will manifest in increasingly destructive ways, leading Dev to pursue an ill-advised fling with a bartender while struggling to come to terms with his own feelings of familial estrangement and distrustfulness.

This show has the best musical direction. Either that, or Kimmy Breeland just has amazing taste in music. Fuck yeah, Reckoning.

Why the fuck is anyone still paying attention to this no-talent attention hound?

Everything is tease this and tease that. Either release the damn music or don't.

And merriment?

I didn't see it that way at all. Both of them kept making one bad decision after another. If the show gets a third season (and it should), I'd be pretty surprised if it's happily ever after for those two

Aaaaaaand Bill just dropped a few spots on my list of favorite to least-favorite NuWho companions. Jesus, Bill.
