That scene was excruciatingly hard to watch.

The cat at the end felt like an attempt to drop a neutron bomb of pathos on the audience, in case anyone wasn't satisfied with other parts of the finale. And it worked, dammit.

Yeah, I enjoyed this limited series, but it's not ever going to be mentioned in the same breath as The Wire, because The Wire knew exactly what kind of show it was, and The Night Of couldn't seem to decide.

I thought the final scene with Box and Weiss was pretty clearly setting up for a possible second season.

I thought she was having an attack of conscience looking at the knife and the photos and realizing she was trying to convict someone she knows probably didn't do the crime.
