The remake for XBLA/PSN fell through because Nintendo somehow still holds whatever rights for it and didn't want it on other platforms than its own. So unless they lost whatever rights they had or actually came to a deal this time, I highly doubt any XBLA/PSN version will happen.

The best thing to do would be to humor Miyamoto and give him the gyro-control (for a game where the 3D cuts in and out of view if you move at all...) and then let people just choose if they want the non-gyro controls inverted or not.
