I loved Kingsley Amis, at one point - my local second-hand bookstore had pretty much his all of his novels, and I sped my way through Lucky Jim, Jake's Thing, Stanley and the Women, The Alteration (my favourite of the lot, looking back) and The Old Devils. I was a third of the way through The Green Man, and some kind

It's a way to stand out, though, If you're the only one in a scene not giving a fuck about the rules, you tend to stand out. The other improv performers might hate you, but if you're funny enough, even that is avoidable.

Can't see why Desmond and Molly from The Beatles' Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da didn't make the list.

Which raises an interesting question - how do you guys pick albums to review? Do you just listen to as much as humanly possible and try to write about what moves you, one way or another (which sounds exhausting), or does word-of-mouth play a significant role? Dawes jokes aside, have there been any Jon Landau-style "I

I've only ever heard the name as one of the many Johnsons in Blazing Saddles.
