I don’t quite get the hate towards the station. I can imagine they have to pay a serious premium to get a fuel delivery truck out that way. If it really is 100 miles from anywhere, that’s not gonna be a cheap delivery.

Pre-kids, when I had money for silly exploits, I was really hoping Ford would come out with a viable competitor to the CTSV. Some sort of performance sedan. A 4-door “coupe” isn’t quite that, but it’s something.
With the caveat that I used to own and ride horses and still can’t fully shake that cowboy aesthetic, I actually like it. I can appreciate them doing something different...they could have gone with the standard leather and alcantara interior and it probably would have looked great, but this looks good and is “fun”
Fake engine noises. The one on my Focus ST was particularly maddening and just sounded horrible. If the car isn’t loud enough to be heard inside, fair enough, let me listen to my kids scream or the radio. If I want to hear my car I’ll modify the intake or exhaust to do so (increasingly...I won’t.)
This must mean that the RS6 has sold (relatively) well. I like it...but that rear fender/bumper is a bit...much?
I am sure there are better options, but for my money I’m going with a 1973 Jeep J-2500. I bought one in college for $450 and it took me EVERYWHERE in the far northern reaches of California. Cross a river to get to a beach and drive on said beach? Check. Getting out to the middle of nowhere on a reservation for…
Raise some sound proof glass between the front and back seats, allowing my kids to fight and scream to their heart’s content while my wife and I cruise in relative peace.
We have 3.5 acres and have been trying to get my mom living on the property for a while now. The problem we have is sewage so we’d need to install a new septic system. The county is now requiring these insane systems which cost around 200k to install. As a result, I’ve been trying to get her into something like this…
Not knowing the specifics of the event I hate to weigh in, but as someone who has pulled up to a boat launch, launched my boat, then had nowhere to park my truck and trailer I can say this is absolutely a major pet peeve for me personally.
Not trying to be on a high horse, but honestly curious. How the hell people get so many tickets? like muqaddimah with “...all the tickets I have received have been earned...” How do you get so many?!?
I’ve been into cars since before I had a license. I’ve had motorcycles and silly cars for the 21 years since I got my…
When people are just rude or otherwise slimy.
My mom was OBSESSED with the design of the PT Cruiser when it came out. I remember those first few months they were basically unobtainable and if you could, you were paying thousands in markups. It worked out great for me though, because I was 15 at the time and about to need a car.
It makes zero financial sense to replace my current vehicles.
I feel like rental cars should be excluded because while there are some plain bad cars (Versa that broke down in Ohio, I’m looking at you) but you also don’t know how they were treated.
Regarding the Crown “running forever,” did you not just see all the news about Toyota product issues?
Regarding the CR-Z, I was at the 25 hours of Thunderhill working for GoPro probably in 2010 or 2011 (the year Paul Walker was there racing a Miata, for whatever that is worth). Honda was campaigning a couple of…
Hmm, I think we are fairly far apart on this one, but I will just say this again: I would be exceedingly surprised if the software you can now get for $1,000 was available at the time of launch.
We’re getting a bit in the weeds here, but hey...we’re all enthusiasts right?
If you look at the cost of that kit, I’m going to go with somewhere in the $75 range to be generous. No one had to come up with the idea of an intake and plugs, but there was some development cost to make them for the ST. They cost VERY…
Ha! I would argue that these overpowered tanks are the furthest from “enthusiast” cars covered on this site. Pushing your foot to the ground and going fast doesn’t make you an enthusiast, and it certainly doesn’t make you a skilled driver. Car loud, go fast in line, so fun.
Stop making these ridiculous cars! People can do stupid things in any car, but we don’t need to make it so damned easy.
