Yeah, the effects of highly-inductive loads are *ahem* prone to complexity in that one... You seldom see purely resistive loads in the real world, at least in the real world of residential construction.

In lower voltage terms it would be modeled like a simple center-tapped transformer feeding the breaker boxes. Given a single-phase in and single-phase-out, with a center tap, it always seems confusing to try to describe it as “more than a single phase circuit”, especially in light of the differing ways a three-phase…

Where I suppose it gets more dicey is when you limit the pool to EV owners. They are a uniquely un-mechanically inclined group in my experience. I know quite a few EV owners. I can only think of one who I think could capably replace anything more than a light bulb.
