Wow, thats a screaming deal. I work with a lot of speciality car dealers out here in the Bay Area and I haven't seen a low mileage Elise for less than $36K

Eh... you are better off with a Porsche Boxter if you are looking to the "Oh, that guy must have money" look from non-car entusiasts. Honestly, most people who aren't car guys think that the Miata is a "chick car", even the chicks.
What was destructive in that video? Maybe the tires need to be replaced and the car painted, but other than that no damage done.
I had one in college and it was awesome, I was broke and really couldn't afford anything else. Funniest part was when I would show up at a party and people would think the cops were there and start leaving... gave me a great conversation starter when me and my buddies hopped out!
That was my favorite part about driving the P71 down in SoCal, hop in the left lane and it was like there were no other cars on the road. I learned quickly though to no look at other drivers as your pass, cause they are always mad when they realize you aren't a cop, haha.
I know that when I had a P71 SFPD and SDPD pulled me over ALL THE TIME (12 times in 1.5 years) and told me everything from I had to get the car painted a non-police color to I wasn't allowed to drive it on public roads... but never issued a ticket.
I thought so to, but there is some logic there
Responsibility is a hell of a buzz kill, I have to agree with you there.
This is what I wanted to say but choose not to because I figured it was the least important part of the story (where his money came from) and knew it would piss people off... But it should be said.
But it does. Both of the cars were part of the same group that were leaving a Super Bowl party. That is very different than two random super cars colliding, which is what the post implies.
So... what your'e saying is that once two cars are 100% certain to be in an accident then the type of car has no impact on that percentage?
But they come across each other less... hence reducing the chances of it happening... that's how statistics work.
Haha, those bastards!

I disagree, I am making assumptions based on common logic. I didn't realize that the Jalop article failsed to mention that the lambo careened over the median and hit the GTR going to OTHER WAY. Also it fails to mention that its expected that they were part of a larger group of "sport car owners" that were at the now…
Don't get me wrong, I know plenty of young people with money, but at the same time they aren't giving the keys out to ANYONE. But then again, the guys that I know made their own money are the cheapest SOB's you've ever met... those that got it from their parents not so much.
Yea, but there is a HUGE median between the lanes and most of it is long and flat, meaning you can see for MILES.
According to other news outlets the passenger was the owner, not her... Who in their right mind gives a supercar to a 24-year-old who is stupid enough to hand the keys over to ANOTHER 24-year-old (And this is coming from a 24-year-old)
Now if only BBC would do the same for us 'Mericans!
