I never said it was the only way to get a phone, I said it is how the market is structured here. In Europe you can get a discounted phone plan if you provide the phone, that is not the case here in the US unless you count 3rd tier options like Boost/Cricket/etc. At the moment the average consumer is not clamoring to

Not really, as founded by AP Giannini in San Francisco as Bank of Italy, was always an American institution, never Italian. I'm sure that having America in the name made it a target though.

But... Where would we got our oil from?

This is kinda what iSuppli does, and yes they do have a very good idea of what the production costs are. And everytime they release one of these breakdowns it gets covered(with varying levels of success... Molly) on major news outlets. Sounds like a genious way to generate free publicity does it not?

I hate ignorant comments like yours... Americans buy phones on contract because that is how they are sold here, not because they are "dumb". If the European market were structured in the same manner consumers would do the same thing.

NYC has the biggest line because its the largest store in the most populated city in the US... it has nothing to do with their not being other options in the area.

I'm sorry Molly.... but really? You even point out the ridiculousness of this article with your penultimate paragraph. I get that you are trying to make a played out topic sound interesting, but you are just inviting the wrath of the commentariat... but then again I guess that is what Gizmodo is all about these

I am trading in my Samsung Note for an iPhone 5.

Drive, we need less of this lame bald guy and MORE Chris Harris.... If Chris were doing this segment not only would he attempt the jump himself, but he would of given it a go in whatever Ferrari/Porsche he had with him! Why? RACECAR! And isn't that what Drive is all about?

This

You are giving eco-freaks way too much respect... In their eyes, if it doesn't run on hopes and dreams it isn't envirofriendly enough, haha.

That's about the same price a fully loaded F-150... If I were in the market for a pick-up I might be tempted... If nothing else then at least it will piss off all my Eco-friendly neighbors here in SF!

I don't really know where to begin correcting you... you are both misinterpreting fiscal markets while at the same time have your facts backwards. To begin, the Euro is on the verge of insolvency... unlike the US Currency which is yes going towards inflation, but is by far more stable than the Euro. We will see what

That sir is why you take those and store them on a separate HDD!

Dodgers Suck

Wrong. So Very Very Wrong

It got longer because it is going with 16:9 aspect ratio, I'm not sure how much I like that, but we will see. As a Samsung Note owner, I can say that the s-pen is certainly not the future... but I wouldn't mind having one on an iPad.

Seems to me that I'm maxing system resources with just a few apps open, to the point that I have to clear up memory just to get the browser working.

Yes... I know there are many phone options, I choose the Note over the SGSII for the larger screen. Had the SGSIII been available I probably would of gone that route.

I agree with that and I don't, for those of us that have been active in the JB community since the beginning, the iPhone has never been a "walled environment".
