Don’t forget putting up bike lanes in the most congested areas in a city that rains for half a year. I’m sure everyone loves biking in the rain.

I’m curious - most traffic in growing cities is due to higher net worth individuals with their cars and chauffeurs. Most “middle-class” people in emerging economies such as Vietnam, Cambodia, et al, and even in quasi-developed economies like Thailand and India, still use motorcycles.

1. make cities too expensive to live in

Also hard to take the author seriously with misleading statements like this:

This actually comes primarily from one study and the person who conducted it has since updated their position. Without a change in population, the added traffic of having good roads is about 10% because there aren’t infinite cars waiting to get on the road. There’s just people who are no longer avoiding roads because

I guess this is the all-too-predictable response to the response Dharm’s “I bought a car and it’s improved my life, but that doesn’t fit my narrative so I have to feel bad about it” story from earlier in the week garnered…

The one singular thing that will help black students the most is simply having a father that gives a damn at home. It’s unfortunate that we keep trying to fix the symptom, instead of the underlying cause of the problem. And the cause isn’t “racism”.

Airlines should go back to more spacious seating and more relaxed boarding procedures. They created extremely stressful conditions (for passengers and employees) even before the pandemic, now they are reaping the rewards of stuffing a traumatized populace into those stressful conditions. Raise the prices if need be,

Airlines keep pushing seat closer together, eliminating leg room. Crowding fuels hostility. Maybe Airlines should be forced to put a few more inches between rows of seats? For the sake of the pandemic? & customer comfort?

Also, how about no flying without a vaccination?

They are not betrothed, they are married.

I understand Biebs being Biebs, but dude ... in France you wear shoes... actual shoes... and your beads should have stayed on the nightstand... and your shirt should be buttoned up... and you should wear a tie. Flamboyance is fine, but it needs to be understated - in your furnishings - like with your tie or pocket

Protocol Officer here...

Content colonizers? Seriously? Talk about semantic satiation. Words used to have meaning. You seriously are likening some dumbshit teens stealing TikTok dances to the systematic violent takeover of entire countries? NO wonder you think you’re so oppressed, you forget what oppression actually is.

By facial expression alone, Mme. Macron is my gotdamn spirit-animal right here.

Mr. Bieber’s outfit is largely fine

Agreed. They are both mis-dressed (is that a word?) for the occasion just in different ways.

Not to go full geezer (I’m not quite 60) but in my youth every kid had a part-time after school job to earn a few bucks for fun, saving for a car, etc. All the fast-food, waitressing, and retail sales jobs in my town were held by high school kids.
