If he didn’t have that training, he wouldn’t be alive.

Kotaku failed to explain that the guy had martial arts experience.

He didn’t prepare his whole life for the one day his girlfriend would attempt to kill him with a sword. He was prepared to defend himself from a possible attack from an assailant(which in this case, just happened to be his girlfriend).

as others have stated in other comments, the guy knew martial arts(Gizmodo made that clear). So when he says “he was prepared for something like this” he meant that he was prepared to defend himself from an attack from an assailant and not that he was prepared that his girlfriend would take out a sword to kill him.

Kota

What do any of those have to do with Metroid?

All of these actually showed gameplay unlike Metroid Prime 4.

Try again

and? That’s still not enough time to have anything ready to show.

It is not a port of Smash 4

It’s a new smash. That’s a fact.

i’d assume the same as they did on the wii U version. CPU players that you train to become better.

That’s just me assuming, but we’ll have to wait until more info comes out on everything about this game.

They would have said it was a port of the Wii U/3DS games if it was a port. No reason to put characters in silhouettes(Like...we know Mario and Link were always going to be in there, there’s no reason to hide their faces) and the logo is new. You don’t just hype all this CGI trailer for a port.

It’s not a port, they would have said so in the video(or in their twitter/press release). It’s a new game.

People expected a Smash on Switch, they weren’t expecting a NEW Smash releasing in 2018. That’s the shock here. If it was a port, the excitement would not reach as much as it did, but a new switch this soon is actually shocking.

Now playing

There’s a time limit in all competitive matches.

On PC, sure

This is the Switch version and that won’t happen

If it was a port, it would have made sense to have a title

Not having a title means it’s a new game.

Full price since it’s not a port of smash Wii u. It’s a new Smash game.

it’s not the deluxe version of Smash

It’s a new Smash

The point of For glory was to let competitive people play. If you didn’t want it you either played For Fun or made your own online room with friends.

it’s too soon for anyting metroid related at this point

it’s not a port, it’s a new smash

it wouldn’t

Because the name would have been “For Nintendo Switch” or DX/Deluxe or some subtitle to make it sound it was the “definitve edition” of Smash 4. The point is, the title would have been finalized already if that was the case.

The tweet is a translated quote of what Sakurai said.
