Both Android and iOS have gestures these days, but I definitely sympathize with wanting a consistent back button vs having to play “hunt the back button” on iOS if you’re someone who doesn’t care for using gestures.

The color isn’t set by any kind of actual standard. USB Hi-speed (“fast” USB 2.0) uses 9 conductors. USB 3.2 (“Superspeed”) uses 15 or more.

As someone who deals with a crap-ton of Android devices, the extremely fast shortcut to dealing with customization on Android is to back up the state of your Launcher so that you move to a common UI on ever device.

For people who don’t know: There’s a common source for all Android software, the Android Open Source Project. Google (or Amazon, if you swing that way) have a value-added layer that sits on top of that that brings an AOSP device more fully into their ecosystem, the Play Services Framework or Amazon equivalent. This

I saw it at a second run theater over the weekend. It’s not a very good movie, and that still makes it one of the better DC titles; better than Wonder Woman and most live-action takes on Batman, not as good as Shazam or Gunn’s take on Suicide Squad. It’s the MOST paint-by-numbers super hero plot in the history of film

I’m a Gen X person but my roommate is a Gen Z (born in 2000). She grew up on the prequels and the Clone Wars cartoons and nothing can shake her opinion that the products set in that era of the storyline are the best of Star Wars. I will definitely give her that there are some phenomenal stories told in Rebels, Andor

As far as I’m concerned, Steam is already the dark side. I don’t like Steam as a platform and I tremendously resent having to authenticate for anything beyond my initial purchase, especially for offline, single player games.

Make sure you keep track of which spells are ritual spells. Ritual Spells like Speak with Dead and Longstrider don’t consume a spell slot or require concentration and they last until your next long rest, unless for some reason you cast them in turn based mode.

Apple couldn’t even get the very most basic concept of a workable on-screen keyboard right for the first four or five iterations of its mobile OS. That’s some truly horrific judgment on the part of someone important enough to make decisions about its software. iOS still does everything in its power to prevent end

There’s no insecurity. If I don’t like something about my devices, I have the option to change it. The cult takes it the way Apple gives it to them. It’s an authoritarian state, even for all the demonstrably poor choices it has and continues to make in its software environment.  A phone is a tool, not a lifestyle.

Kind of? Mostly? It has redeeming qualities but half the cast didn’t want to be there, the writing staff was so, so tired from years of TNG and DS9 production that they were literally making episodes with Star Trek Nonsense Mad-Libs, and there’s only so many Tom Paris fuckups that can be papered over with so many Harry

Members of the cult don’t care that there are superior alternatives until they are anointed with an Apple logo? I’m shocked.

Did you by any chance see the Penny Arcade comic depicting the keyboard attached the a Surface Pro being met with “meh” while a shockingly close to identical Apple device years later was heralded as the coming of a new age? Because that is something that did actually happen.

I’m a Tab S8 owner. I actively dislike the oversized versions of the larger models, but I am very happy to see that AMOLED is finally available for the smaller units. Samsung also rates the S9 for water resistance. Since I like to read in the bath, this is a welcome enough feature that I may very well upgrade, even

USENET is decentralized and it can be searched. Google has this functionality built in already, although I understand if most users aren’t familiar with Google Groups.

I don’t care for Reddit and I don’t participate there as a user. I won’t use an app to access it in any case, but sometimes Reddit is the only platform where I can find information on a topic.

Having a SD slot is an absolute deal breaker for me. Samsung no longer puts them in its “better” phones and neither do most Android OEMs; I’m down to A5x series and Sony Xperias as my next potential upgrade once my Samsung S20+ craps out.

There was a period of time when, if you bought enough keys for Windows XP, they’d just issue you a volume license # and ask you really nicely not to use it more than the number of times you paid for. My personal XP Pro volume key is right next to my childhood phone number and social security number already.

I’m not a professional photographer and I don’t pretend to be. I was just walking around with my camera and shooting whatever I ran across that I could get to stand still for a minute. I love it when people in costume make an effort to pose for the best shots, though. Spider-Man Noir, for example.

I assure you that I read the article and I remain unimpressed that an Android device can run Android software.  Doom 3 is an almost 20-year old title that’s been ported to Android for years. I don’t know what failure of comprehension you have in this matter.
