Haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere, so I'll point out that there was a great little moment where the Statie asks Raylan if he was involved in the shooting, and Raylan says no, and the Statie seems skeptical.  A US Marshal shooting in Harlan that doesn't involve Raylan Givens must be surprising.

I think part of the issue is that there is a social disapproval of men who do drama in high school in the US.

Dixie Chick Natalie Maines said they were ashamed Bush was from Texas b/c they didn't like the Iraq, they got slammed in the media ("how dare she criticize the President on foreign soil"), death threats, and DJs who continued to play them got fired for doing so.

I actually enjoy cranky Padma, partially because she provides a nice change of pace from high as a kite Padma. One fun moment was when she got overly pissed at Stefan for his explanation of his chicken cordon bleu fiasco.  "Such a bullshitter!" she hissed angrily.  Good times.
