This seems like a very expensive yet effective way to kill oneself.

In a perfect world, Jimal, you are right. However, it is difficult for a politician to reap any rewards from improving upon the project of someone else. Politically, it's much more advantageous for him to start his own pet project that, if successful, will generate a lot of personal goodwill.

It was my understanding that police departments didn't buy the previous Impalas because they were front-wheel drive. However, the Crown Vic continued its dominance. What is the real reason for the Impala's relative failure to capture the market?

And, furthermore, doesn't the movement of the Viper outside of the Dodge brand eliminate that model's function as a "halo vehicle?" What goodwill can the Viper create for the Dodge brand when it isn't even badged as a Dodge?

1st Gear: very, very bad idea

When a car's MSRP is first announced in GBP (which happens a lot, especially if you only look at TG or TG magazine), my buddy would always say "that's going to be, like, 1.6 times that!" "Not so fast," I say, "it doesn't really work like that." Those exchange rates only reflect how many quids I can get for one buck,

And you get newer Skylines...

That is just outrageous. That doesn't make any sense to me at all. Do you still have to pay for bodily injury and personal medical coverage even though you have a form of socialized (I use the term gingerly) medicine?

I love that pic, I've never seen it before. Almost as good as blinker fluid.

I had figured it was something like that. Also, I've heard insurance for a younger motorist (those who might be buying used cars) is incredibly high, like something on the order of £4,000 a year for a new driver. That's just criminal. I think insurance for me as a new driver was around $1,200.

For some reason, used cars in the U.K. are shit balls cheap. That's why I completely ignore any of these comparisons with used cars. It just never happens over here like that.

Two possible options? I don't think they're mutually exclusive.

If all Lancia Stratos drivers are awesome (http://jalopnik.com/5714552/ten-unlikely-car-owner-stereotypes/gallery/10), then surely kids with Lancia Stratos Hot Wheels are just as awesome.

I will not be entirely surprised if this guy gets it done in under 9 real soon...I'll be impressed, but I won't be surprised. You hear that Millen?

What's that, "Will-dot-I-dot-Am-dot?"

That's why I try to avoid the exits of any corners on that course. Standing just before the apex is marginally safer.

I don't get it. Is it the Lamborghini that is Swedish, or is it the driver?

I hadn't realized something like this had been done before. I don't know why, because I try to follow Pikes Peak news.

It is my understanding that they've slowly been paving more and more of the highway over the past few years, which is why we've seen times drop considerably. This simply isn't the same course as Tajima climbed last year, and I won't be terribly surprised if he breaks Millen's record by 30 seconds or so next year or

I apparently once cut-off this guy in a Mustang as I was making a left-hand turn and he was coming towards me in the opposite lane, although he was at least 100 yards away and doing about 50 in a 30. As I look behind me, the guy screeches to a complete halt in the middle of the intersection (I'm about a block away
