Be honest, is there a kickback involved here? This sounds an awful lot like a subsidized article. Having said that over many decades I’ve often purchased refurbished electronics, and have never regretted it. If it’s a legit manufacturer refurb there’s very little risk, at least of it not working out of the box as it’s

Which would all imply we haven’t been detected by a civilization able to reach us with destructive capacity. Consistent with my tentative belief we haven’t been visited.

It’s certainly possible that the earth has been identified by intelligent beings as a potential life incubator. Less likely that they’re close enough to have detected signals indicating our technology.  I’ll believe they’ve made the effort to physically visit us when I see compelling evidence, which so far I haven’t.

Yes, and I’ll believe some civilization has done that when I see it.

Ok, add 50 years to my radio signal estimate. That’s 75 years to get there and 75 for them to get here if they set off immediately. Still a very small bubble of the universe for it to have been seen by a sufficiently advanced civilization brave enough to risk meeting us.

Yes, all true. You could also say that we are able to travel back in our observations as far as the time it takes light to get here from distant locations. I was referring to the sort of time traveler Hawking invited to his famous party.

So where are they?

That’s an if without a reality.  If it were true then where are they?  Flecks on a Navy radar?  Let’s just say I’m not convinced.

Right, so where are they?  It’s like the argument that time travel may be possible.  Fine, so where are the visitors from the future warning us about coming catastrophes, or cashing in on billion $ lotteries?

That wouldn’t overcome the fundamental limit on the speed of light, which both restricts how far our radio signals have traveled in a hundred years so they’d know to even bother with us, or how long it would take them to get here from wherever they are.

Probably not, but if they’ve even detected our existence they’re likely really into social isolation either by choice or the sheer hurdle of the mote of many light years distance.

Yeah, in and out of the freezer is bad. Also best to take the vacuum sealed bag out of the freezer the day before needed to let them reach room temp before breaking the seal. What you really don’t want is condensation on the beans. I keep the beans being used in an airtight jar in the cupboard.

I totally see why some would think it’s satire, which is why I put the “nuts” comment in. It’s 100% true. Coffee is one of my great pleasures so I try to maximize it, and the effort pays off every day. I’ll offer a couple of suggestions. Don’t know where you’re located but in the US there are numerous roasters who

I use a Behmor Brazen brewer primarily because it allows adjusting the precise brewing temp in 1 deg increments from 190-210. Mostly I leave it at my preferred temp, but for some beans changing it makes a very big difference. Also, I use a 1/100th gram scale. Not because I measure to 1/100th but because that allows

I’ve been eating these. Very mild flavor.

So a Dr. has lost his sense of taste and smell.  Pretty sure that’s a symptom...

If not already mentioned in the comments, I saw an article that said those blackout masks the airlines hand out turned upside down can be used over the mouth and nose. I just happened to have one and it definitely fits the bill. The key being the main purpose of the mask is to keep you from blowing out virus laden

My latest killer ice cream combo:  1 scoop each of B & J’s Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and Haagen-Dazs Irish Cream Brownie.

Came to point that out. Teleportation of hardware via downloading files still not achievable.
