Not true. The Constitution leaves it up to the states to determine how their EC delegates vote. The move to fix the EC and make it consistent with the popular vote outcome is well underway. Twelve states and DC have already passed the law, accounting for 181 EC votes.  With 89 needed to reach 270, the magic number,

The only honest argument for the EC is you prefer the beliefs, values and priorities held by the minority and you want a better chance of being able to impose those on the majority. Every attempt at being “rational” in defense of the EC is just transparently anti-democratic.

Is there a record kept somewhere for how many lies can be packed into so few words? A lies per words ratio?

Came to post this “make sure your network isn’t running on the same channel as theirs”.  Problem solved.

Pretty good strategy. A new VP of Integrity every day. “I was left with this mess by my predecessor, but integrity is our #1 priority and my goal is to start doing the right thing today.” Just issue that PR statement daily.

Yeah, I know.  The implication was clear.  It is funny how defensive the other side of the pillow fight got.  They have to dream up something to try and win the tug-of-war over the market for watered down piss.

Did Bud claim corn syrup is unhealthy? If you mean alcohol, then lots of recent medical and health stories make that claim.

Are kaons anti-koans? Or verse vica?

This is America where child abuse through withholding vaccinations for those too young to choose is perfectly fine. Woohoo!

Any pilots who can comment on how the 2nd crew who flew the next day and crashed weren’t warned by the 1st crew who narrowly avoided disaster, or by whoever the 1st crew would/should have told about the “anomaly”? Is this as monumental a screwup as it seems, or is there some rational explanation that let’s Lion folks

I have no problem with sane people calling Trump out on his insanity. Baiting him is an effective way of continuing to force him to reveal his weakness. I don’t think Mr. Conway has stooped to Trump’s level and I don’t think he’s lost in the exchange, but Trump certainly has. School yard invectives thrown at adults do

Big enough scandal, but pales in comparison to McConnell refusing to even consider Obama’s nomination for the court.

You have a very perverse view of “winning”, common, but perverse none the less. Anyone with the sensibility, perspective and judgement above that of a 10 yr old sees Trump simply revealing what an infantile, mentally and emotionally challenged, fool he is.  In an adult that’s the opposite of winning. In a President

I believe it will happen.  Bush and Trump are more than sufficient evidence that the current system doesn’t work as well as we need it to, and a lot of folks are motivated to change it.  It may take gerrymandering reform to make it happen but that’s being worked on as well.  Things are trending positive.

It’s not an amendment you ignoramus. It’s bills being passed in each state. No change to the Constitution required. 12 have already passed it, and DC. That’s 181 EC votes. Once enough states pass the law to total 270 EC votes the die is cast.

FU. Enough States are going to pass the EC law so that a majority of voters will determine who’s President. Gerrymandering will be improved so State legislatures and the House will be more closely democratic. We can add seats to the Supreme Court to allow it to better reflect the will of the people. You want the

The aesthetics don’t appeal to me at all. More polished, but thick and clunky, with that big black bezel all around the screen it’s a big step backwards. Much prefer my Gear S2 which I’ll stick with.

Ah, the mask comes off. Yes, I know you’d prefer to have the minority dominate the majority. What’s that called? Fascism? Some dystopian dream where your preferred elite, arrogant overlords decide what’s best for everyone. We are not a perfect democracy, but that’s the weakest possible argument for trying to make us

It may shock you but I don’t give a crap about states. I care about people. The entire states rights argument has always been a ruse to disguise some real agenda, which has often been racist. That line “but, but we’re a democratic republic” is just so much bullshit. You do reveal in other posts that your worry is

Yeah, it’s not perfect.  But if gerrymandering can get fixed then state governments can also reflect the will of the majority, which is the goal.
