I would love an EV. The ID Buzz is a wonderful looking car. But you’re asking for major infrastructure changes that are not something people have a choice in. You’d need employers small and large to offer charging access, and you’d need to have charging access for people who rent apartments/any space that doesn’t come

A) How often are you driving 300 miles in one trip?

This is true too, and it’s a major impediment to adoption. Unless you own a home with a charging station there’s a good chance you’ll never have the option to own an EV.

I want to see the venn diagram of people who want to purchase an EV for climate protection reasons and people who would rather fly anything over 300 miles. Then, smack that center section in the back of the head with a pamphlet detailing the carbon costs implicit in flight.

Well most people aren’t wandering all over our vast opens paces, they are driving to work and home. Driving 300 miles is about the limit for me before I’ll fly instead, and a 30 minute break to charge halfway there is far from a dealbreaker.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s crazy that the UAW can dictate whether or not their members can get a secondary source of income?

43k for a 5 y/o Porsche that’s name isn’t spelled out with numbers?

Even with RWD and a V8, the Caddy was superior in every way to the 300.

New Oldsmobiles are in early!

That’s only valid for the 1st Gen. GM as regular as the recommended fuel for the 2nd gen.

Yeah, 35L of regular every 2500-3000kms for us.

We both had helmets on, so I suppose it was safe.

I think you mean Jet Ski, but the joke still works.

My sister and I grew up in the back seats of a 67 baja Beetle, an 87 Conquest TSi, or an 85 Honda Goldwing (Yes, both of us at the same time). I guess my parents weren’t concerned about our comfort either, but they were fun cars so I don’t mind.

Who will lead the ninja turtles now?

The ever-expanding booster seat rules always get me. By the time my older daughter was 8, she was taller than my first wife was as an adult. If my daughter still needed a booster seat at that height/weight, then surely my first wife should still sit in a booster seat at age 48.

It trades EV range for better cargo space, passenger space, and much higher hybrid MPG (55 for Prime, versus 43 for the volt). It’s also a good bit cheaper, and has a nicer interior.

Maybe GM should give the striking workers an application for Uber while the strikes continue, you know to supplement their income.

To be completely honest, that looks far more secure than 90% of what I see in the beds of pickup trucks here in MA.

Would you ever do more than cruise in this though ? I guess maybe with the Tesla motors you would. But I imagine a Lincoln Continental with an EV driveline — or some other giant, four plus seater convertible.
