Neutral: When I drive my self in questionable jalopies from the 80s, I feel ok. When I’m being driven in a 3 year old car that shakes under braking, has tires at the wear bar and a suspension that creaks over the slightest road irregularities, I worry.

“There are three sports: Bull fighting, Mountain climbing, and Riding in an Uber. The rest are just games.”

It’s bad enough that I have to be on the same roads with people who have wondered why their car squeals when they depress the brakes for the last five years, who just use their high beams when their headlights go out, and who only have one functional brake light (and it’s the same red lamp and their turn indicator!) I

i’ll add exotic dancers to this list - they are always divulging their real names to me.

Me too. Every time I have sat in a Veloster I have the “dark cave” sensation.  Not as bad as a Camaro but not a lot better. I can see properly out of my Golf GTI and I feel like there’s a world out there around me, not just cars menacing in giant blind spots.  The i30N/Elantra GT-N would be the sweet spot for me.

I’m a fan of range extenders. An EREV still gets you to work after gasoline gets phased out.

Hybrids are not complex. Hybrid Synergy Drive is basically a simple planetary transmission with electric motors used to control input/output ratio, rather than the collection of clutch packs and complicated valving used in traditional automatics.

I favor the idea of the on-board range extender when it comes to electric vehicles.

While it is certainly cheap, why would I buy this boring Mombox over every other boring Mombox that’s cheaper to maintain?

How about a mid-engined not-super car?

Came to the comment section for yakalopnik/yaklopnik content. Leaving satisfied.

Ah, so you are the one

but which one is gonna pee on my rug?

Dude, “Chinaman” is not the preferred nomenclature.

Actually this generation of Yukons has a well-known wiring issue in general with those brake lights. Ask me how I know....

1. For the second-generation Soul (2014-2019) there were three engines: the base 1.6-liter, the mainstream 2.0-liter, and the 1.6-liter turbo that they added at some point.

The joy of government travelling is the cheapest rental is your only option.  So it is a tossup between Nissan Versa’s (often with low tire pressure lights) and Hyundai Accent... the last one with separating steel belts showing through the front tire (thanks Hertz, you miserable f$ckers).

Now playing

I’m thinking he’s like one of these guys.

Every time I hear a German say “pure,” it makes me just a teeny bit nervous... because ya know, history and whatnot.

This is exactly how I ended up with my current truck!

A quick trip to WV from KY and I’ve got a decent daily for around $1800 less than they were going for in KY.

*I forgot to mention the month and a half of searching, but...you know...that’s... part of the fun?*
