Every recent new car I’ve driven had shown some “you are responsible” screen on the display when the car is started. Isn’t it obvious that the meatbag at the wheel is responsible for keeping the 2 ton killing machine between the stripes?

I always get fuel at Costco on the way to work. Usually 4 or 5 empty pumps. Pick a Friday after work and I'm likely to be behind someone putting $175 in their boat on the back pump and their truck on the front pump. 

And I occasionally put a mountain bike on my hitch rack. So, like 40-50 pounds.

I had a ‘83 Mazda B series truck with 58hp. It was probably 2000something pounds. I think it ran out of gear before it got to 65MPH.

Understood. The last CI engine I tore into was a little Perkins in a John Deere from the late’70s. I'm sure your knowledge is more accurate than mine. I was simply referencing the lack of a throttle on a CI engine. Excuse me while I go put a BOV on my 6BT.

Usually you can complain to any diesel message board about getting peanut oil residue off the injectors and that should open the door to Big Oil pushing Rudolf Diesel off the afterdeck of the SS Dresden in 1913.
