When are electric vehicle manufacturers going to abandon the transmission interface? Does an EV need a “Drive” transmission selector? I know that leaving the shifter in place makes it compare easier to the fossil fuel powered car. What could manufacturers do different to the shifter?

I test drove a Veloster when they came out (2012?). Wanted a 2 door hatch, was disappointed. If Hyundai mad it as a 2 door, I'd probably have bought one. As it was, my 10 year old couldn't really get in or out of the small rear door.

I can see that. I was in the Navy when the 2nd Gen Mitsubishi eclipse came out. There was a Mitsubishi dealer less than a mile from the base. Sign out front said “E-4 new Eclipse sign and drive". The parking on base was 50% Eclipse RS.

Does this ride better than a minivan? Honestly, I do not tow anything or need AWD. I’ve had a minivan before and it was crazy useful for 6 people and a bit of stuff, 4 people and a good amount of stuff, or 2 people and all the Ikea things!

What does this gain over a minivan? Honestly AWD and towing?

Draw a starting time out of a hat. You must qualify in that time window. Also, while we are here, they should pull CW or CCW out of a hat on Sunday about 10 minutes before the race starts. Some races turn left, some turn right. Don't know until Sunday!
