He could totally put the Jeep on NCOCP and see how it fares.

Yeah, that sounds cool. My testing had mostly been subassembly level stuff. I'd imagine that testing to failure in flight would be a bad thing.

This! If people don’t buy lots of things, supply and demand economy favors the consumer. I'll wait to buy.

I work in testing and durability in the aerospace industry. I've always wondered if the automotive industry was more fun. I frequently see auto stuff at independent test labs.

I worked for a landscape company when I was in college in Florida. The owner of the company was a family friend. He went out of his way to get black trucks with no A/C so the workers wouldn't sit around after each job. They had to move to cool off. Seems like much the same as yours.

After getting laid off during the last “economic downturn” and getting a job in an industry a bit more insulated from the fluctuations, I’ve been saving to buy a cool car during the next one. Closing borders, raising tariffs, and China not buying as many cars has me somewhat excited.

I’m sure the Pearl color option costs $3850 extra.

Sweet. I'll use oxidize more often in daily language. Last night I oxidized some charcoal under a couple of steaks. Wait, where do this conversation start? Rust is technically iron oxide, or a programming language.

Can confirm. Replaced the air suspension on my Grandmother’s Marquis with springs. Although not a difficult job, might be hard in a leg cast. Also, every so often the climate control goes a bit crazy as well.

In my experience, a $300 car can’t be expected to have a battery. No battery, no electrocution danger.

I didn't know a lithium battery could rust.

What will happen to "The Morning Shift" when all cars are electric and only have a reduction gear? One long blog post about Ghosn's head in a jar?

Nissan missed the mark by not putting this engine into the Versa SE-R. CP for trying to sell a dirty car for $12,000.

Great article, but I can't believe it's tagged as a coupe in the header. It needs at least 2 but no more than 5 does to be called a coupe.

Pfffft! Total CP! I’m holding out for a street legal Trophy Truck!

Most times I have interim releases that "work". Sometimes I have software that just exercises the hardware in a "manner consistent with typical user operational load". I do as much as I can early on to meet the end contact. I have gone back after software release to spot check hardware.

As a hardware test engineer, I seldom test hardware with released software. The software is almost always lagging. Sometimes so much that by the time the software is "ready" the hardware is nearly obsolete.

I agree $4K is my limit for someone else's project (problem?)

A wise off-roader told me many years ago that the winch and big tires weren't there to get you to your campsite, they were there to get you home.

Could Jeep crowd find the tooling for this truck? (And the stamped tailgate?) See how many indegogo pledges they get. /S
