I’d love to rip around there in a C7 Z06 redlining it in 2nd gear all day.

I hadn’t had enough coffee when I wrote that and feel like the idiot that I am. I should have known better, I drove one of the bastards for 3 years.

You’re right. The Gallardo in that video has a much higher pitched note. I may have been thinking of the lower growl of an R8 V10..see below

Ever heard a straight-piped 5 banger Jetta? Dead ringer to a Gallardo

The LT1, LT4, and all current GM V8 truck motors use a pushrod V8 with 2 valves/cylinder; all Chrysler Hemi V8 motors are pushrod V8's with 2 valves/cylinder; the Ford Modular V8 was weird and had both pushrod and OHC configurations offered in 2, 3, and 4 valve/cylinder setups

Advertised ability to lift its front wheels off the ground*

Work trucks/vans need to be treated like they’re carrying 2 tons of pure nitroglycerin around my parts. Those motherfuckers are the kings of doing 80 in the breakdown lane, on their phone, with a brake light out, carrying a half ton of gravel and poorly strapped down ladders, in the rain, at 5:30PM on I-93 south.

Muscle vs. Tuner had a dirt nasty low Civic hatch with a sticker that said “Genuine eBay Parts” on it. Gave me a chuckle.

Unless the department buys regular silver XLT’s and put lights in the headliner and grille. Tons of departments in MA do that.

This was a really good read and really helpful, thank you! I never considered the SN95 but after a quick craigslist search..hmmm...

My friends are lame and have things like “families” and “personal responsibility”

Sometimes I’m really jealous of you guys in California. Palmer Motorsports Park and Lime Rock would be my only options and they’re not cheap. Nice find on the Miata though, sounds like you’ll have a blast!

I watched a video series on it last night, the IMS solution instead of replacement seems like a gigantic pain in the ass, but so was the heater core on my 98 Cherokee. Hopelessly optimistic I guess.

IMS fix costs about $1000 and I can handle doing that myself, tires will be about another $800, track pads and rotors should be another $800, and however much the suspension bushings are to sort out (haven’t worked that out yet). It’s not cheap, but nothing in racing is.

I don’t have the money right now, maybe not ever, to support an actually competitive racer, so I’m currently searching for something that’s fun to drive at HPDE events and isn’t terribly expensive or unreliable to run as a daily. A Z07 with carbons would be fantastic for that; however, I’m 24 and have so much student

Feels > reals on Wall Street sometimes. TBTF is a great read.

I’ve been seeing Boxsters pop up here and there in the $8000 range lately. IMS replacement aside, it’s interesting to think about how far $8000 will get you in track day (bro) fun-points.

I have absolutely no idea how FF has managed to stick around as long as they have, but they’re pioneering vaporware development to new levels.

Because from a fundamental analysis point of view, the market has been overvalued for 2 or 3 years. It’s becoming very clear that the current central banks’ strategies around the world have shot “fundamental analysis” all to hell and nobody really knows what’s driving valuation; most people are reasonably sure as soon

No sweat, I went to school for stuff like this (corporate finance and financial analysis.) That also makes me extremely skeptical of TSLA’s valuation, but the whole market seems to be on a one-way ride to Correctionville soon anyway.
