Allegedly places like hospitals and Disney do this so that people actually stop and think about how fast they’re going. Something about the weird number sticks in peoples’ heads better and they tend to follow it better than the usual base 5 speed.

Real life THPS with point counters and those annoying combo challenges anyone?
I see where you’re going with this: checkpoints that give you extra time via GPS and then beamed to the HUD. Fantastic idea in theory until you get morons like this guy and the FatF crowd releasing software to put checkpoints on public roads and people do their worst Crazy Taxi / OutRun impressions and kill innocent…
You could afford a 1UZ swap but not an LS swap? The fuck kind of junkyards do you live near?
Yup, that was Kanaan. He lost control in turn 4 the lap after that adjustment and that adjustment is what likely sent him into the wall.
I’d imagine a dozen or so and it would be different for the Hondas and Chevy’s with their different aero packages, but it has huge effects on the balance of the car. I’d also imagine it’s a logarithmic effect, with say a 1* adjustment being minuscule compared to a 4* adjustment. Just ask Tony Kanaan about what happens…
Bad traffic? Poor attendance? I couldn’t see the race because I was moving.
Storrow Drive is a blast late on summer nights that the sox aren’t playing, especially in something with a loud exhaust, top down, and a good radar detector.
I like the way you think. Don’t bother repaving the streets either
But...but...the closest legitimate track to Boston (sorry, Seekonk & Munson) track is a NASCAR oval in New Hampshire...
Storrow Drive is enough of a nightmare at 2pm on a weekday. Just imagine trying to set up a track there, the city would explode
Live 20 minutes from Boston. My boner is roughly as big as the Bunker Hill Monument right now.
Bullshit, I drive a 2004 Cavalier with only the optional automatic. I’m seriously surprised it doesn’t have the ancient GM 3 speed and that it doesn’t have 4-wheel drums. 2 airbags as federally mandated, seatbelts that may or may not have working pretensioners, no ABS that I’ve ever seen working, and one seriously…
The Magic ride seems like more of an actively predicting system whereas the Bose hydraulic system and GM/Audi/Ferrari magnetorehological systems seem more like reactive and simpler systems. Very cool stuff though
Any information on how much it uses? I don’t speak French but it looked like a hydraulic system. Maybe 1 or 2 extra batteries and a beefier alternator?
I still don’t understand why this didn’t take off like crazy. Completely flat cornering and you can jump over pesky speed bumps.
No GWC at least
