And her proof was two photographs. If she didn't run into Daniel, what leverage would she have had against Hatake or anyone at the base? They could have made her disappear forever. So dumb.

I just can't latch on to him because he comes across as bad at his job. I mean, there's a reason why such agents receive specialized training and get paid the big bucks. Alan seems more reactionary than proactive, and I don't believe he knows what he's doing (doesn't help that this show has a low sense of urgency).

LOL I get that it's a well-worn trope to have redshirts in these type of stories, but holy cow that sequence just sucked. I mean, they kicked down the door and rushed into a room full of belligerents that don't have a fear response to guns. Did they think they could just yell, "Everybody down" and expect to control

Yeah, that goes back to my opinion that this show's methods of moving characters around for the sake of plot progression makes the characters look bad. These people are only behaving this way because the story needs to move along. Unfortunately, their behavior ends up coming across as nonsensical.

I would be open to another season. The premise keeps me interested, even if the execution is really rough. However, I hope the production team works out what went right and what went wrong with this season and do better next time.

I would also definitely add a peephole to the stairwell side of the secret door. I mean, he apparently has no way of knowing when someone is in his office. So, in this episode, he ends up exposing his secret passageway to Daniel's two guards and his sister.

Yes, I could not follow Anana's reasoning whatsoever. Did she think she could just walk into the base without consequences? All she had was Balleseros, and he already told her they tried to kill him.

Well, I think the show still wants us to view Alan as the central hero, even though the story has shifted focus away from him. He is clearly the leader of the "good guys" camp, just as Constance is clearly leading the "evil villains" group. Unfortunately, I have zero investment in Alan as an audience surrogate,

I'm not talking about their narrative purpose; it's their believability as disease control operatives that's dubious. I'm not convinced that these are experts who have dealt with infectious diseases multiple times in their professional careers. It's a presentation failure independent of the characters' function in the

Okay, but if the show wants us to root for a protagonist, Alan is not it. Hatake is the best player at this point, with Balleseros a distant second. I don't think the writers/producers intended Alan to be this worthless.

The staging of scenes and the way that plot movements unfurl have the unwanted effect of making the characters look incompetent. The paramilitary guards who broke into R-17 — instantly slaughtered due to poor tactics. Anana and Sergio — instantly captured and separated because they walked up to the door and rang the

Well, in spite of all his attempts to forge new personas, he just can't give up his fixations. He always goes back to his regular topics. Though he insists he hates the AVClub, this is clearly the audience that he wishes would think highly of him.

It's not even just Dorian and Kennex. Rudy had a nice character arc that built him up as the 3rd standout character. Now he's seemingly been relegated to background exposition, like everyone else at the department.

I wouldn't mind that kind of non-linear structure. I just recently finished reading a graphic novel that slowly released information by jumping around in time (hence obscuring certain facts that would have been known earlier in a linear plot). However, such a story needs to be intentionally structured that way to

"Rick Dane" is actually a repeat offender more commonly known as "Chris Conley". This isn't a matter of dropping all comments when one is bad, this is about removing a known belligerent for ban evasion. Anytime the mods catch a whiff of his presence, his account is automatically banned on principle (the guy can't keep

It's difficult for me to assess how well this show is progressing because I'm aware that episodes are airing out of intended order. There are noticeable inconsistencies in character interactions, plot serialization, and overall narrative development, but I can't tell if that's because the writers suck, or if it's due

That reminded me: apparently Dr Hvit vanished and no one cared. They believe he's in isolation due to a communicable illness, and they just assumed he'd stay in isolation forever! So, no one expected him to be evacuated, no one checked in with his condition while he was "in isolation", and no one questioned Hatake

Yep, and now what does she intend to do with the corpse in her bed? Does she plan to drag it to the nearest incinerator? Will she come clean to Alan that she'd been harboring an infected person in her bedroom, and subsequently euthanized her?

If they actually intended it as 9 PM, then it would already be 7 AM the next day, which would sound more reasonable. However, from the way they were arguing about Alan checking in with Daniel on a schedule, it seems they've already all been working for a few hours by that point. Going off of that, it seems they maybe
