I'm confused by what's happening with Freelancer Curtis. That one is clearly not just a hallucination/program that Lucas has in his head. Is this a confirmation of branching timelines, and Freelancer Curtis is from a different future where he didn't die in 2012?

@Tops_Blooby:disqus Yeah. You know, I accept that Tom is protective of his kids, but then everyone in the show should accept that that makes Tom a horrible leader. He clearly prioritizes his family at the expense of everyone else's well-being.

I think one of the Skitter rebels should insert that into the conversation while Ben is linked to him.

Well, as a general rule, Tom shouldn't be grabbing people who have made the point of walking away from him lol! Even among Earthlings that's considered rudely presumptuous and a violation of personal space. As you said, the fact that it ended with Tom being swatted aside was not surprising.

Apparently, Karen's bombing of the Volm base (via Lourdes) was so crappy that no one had any problems digging out the weapon after it got buried last week. I just can't believe how badly-planned this season's war games has been. You could tell the writers were just winging it and had no actual strategy for either side

Hah, they can still insert such dialog into Falling Skies. This show could use the levity.

Wellllll… he implied that the Espheni attacked, but he never explicitly mentioned how that all played out. His whole speech was ambiguous enough that I honestly thought it was a plot point. He never clarified whether the Volm failed to save their own world and subsequently fled out to the stars, or if there is still

While I accept that my frustrations about this show aren't shared by everyone, I was genuinely surprised at some of the overwhelmingly positive reviews out on the Web ROFL! It's as baffling to me as people who genuinely love The Following. While I'm not really hate-watching Falling Skies, I'm only in it for the

@disqus_okgItcD0yy:disqus So they don't find it weird that they themselves have broken the mold? The other planets are submissively compliant, but the Volm and Espheni don't find it odd that they themselves are the stand-out exemptions to the rule? Suddenly Earthlings are also breaking the rules … and this perplexes

@avclub-6fda3a23dfb2ba62d0be8a76328a6450:disqus LOL that's a good retort! That visual is gonna stick with me for the rest of the day I think. Someone should show them our Pet Rocks.

Well, just to clarify, Cochise has said that the plan wasn't to take down the entire grid. They only wanted an opening in the grid to allow their mothership to land. I think the rest of the grid is still up and running and will hopefully kill off the entire 2nd Mass before the start of next season.

In all the interviews I've read with Doug Jones, he says that he wears a facial mask and makeup for Cochise (aka Cheechock il Sneetch-nitch Chatico), which is then enhanced with CGI.

I find it laughable that people are still following Tom. His performance as leader has been erratic, because his weaknesses are easily leveraged against him: his family. Tom is a liability because of how often the Espheni takes him in just by dangling his kids in front of his face.

This show is so blatant in its attempt to rouse its audience with flattery that it's cringe-inducing. This is the type of congratulatory tripe that loses its effectiveness because of how obviously-manipulative it is. You'd think that a story about freedom fighters going up against insurmountable odds would be

OMG that would have been a glorious bitch slap! My eyes were rolling hard as soon as Mason started speechifying. I'm constantly surprised by this show's eagerness to indulge such horseshit.

Well, my cynical take on it is that the Volm are only interested in victory over the Espheni. They are liberating worlds just to make sure they're the winners. They don't actually care about the concerns of the locals.

I'm actually confused as to why both the Volm and the Espheni are perplexed by humanity's stubbornness. I mean, are they seriously expecting the entire universe to be populated by the same type of cultures? Are they thinking only the Espheni are the belligerent types, and only the Volm are the condescending types, and

If the two shows did a mash-up, it would be glorious! I imagine the Votans would obliterate Charleston using their ascendant Devouring Goddess and their cold fire weapons (which have the same blue flame effect as the Espheni guns, so clearly the fish heads are Votans). Charleston wouldn't be able to defend themselves

Did you leave out the bionic white reptiles and the CGI warrior-things because you're actually in love with them? I think Defiance is actually fun, even if the storytelling needs work. The actors come off much better on Falling Skies though, but that might be attributed to better directors.
