Every two weeks! Holy cow. I use body art quality henna, so it never fades- I only really need to do the roots. It's definately pure henna, no indigo in it, and I buy it in bulk from the local organic grocery store— it's not packaged by a company as "red henna" or "chestnut henna" or anything. I do mix it with

Has anyone here ever used Henna to dye their hair? I've been using it for about 2 years, but now the colour is getting a little too dark. Is there a safe way to lighten it? I loved the coppery colour that I used to have, but now it's more of a purple - auburn.

That is how fashion design often works- the artist picks one figure, called a "croqui" and then alters it slightly. It saves a lot of time because the designer can concentrate on the clothes and not worry about making new poses for every figure. I think they look neat all lined up like that, almost like chess pieces.

Also "The Prestige". In fact, BOTH men's wives die in that movie. And I'm counting Bruce's mother for the Dark Knight trilogy.

SPOILERS

I spent pretty much all of season 2 sobbing in frustration about Lori and Andrea. How did anyone let that happen?? At least Carol escaped with some moral dignity- the other two are nothing but nagging, arrogant harridans.

Uuuuuugh don't remind me. I don't even know how to articulate how big of a problem that show has with the black male characters. And most of the female characters. I love it for the plots and the special effects but YIKES

*sheds a silent tear for T-dog*

Sure! I didn't mean you specifically, but you don't go around calling people food names, do you? I assume it was started by people trying to pick women up. Those are the only times anyone tries to compare me to food, anyway. Or make analogies about my hair (it's red). "Chili pepper," etc. No straight chicks ever

People seem to only use sweet things or desserts, or sometimes coffee beverages. Honey, chocolate, caffe au lait, peaches and cream, caramel, vanilla. It would be (even) grosser if savory food got involved.

Check out the book "Stiffed" by feminist journalist Susan Faludi- it's very well-researched and quite fascinating. It's partially about the plight of blue collar workers in the decades after WWII. Many felt (perhaps wrongly) that they were let down by the patriarchal system which had promised them happiness and

It turns out messages aren't working, so here is a link: http://www.wildthingsfur.com/index.asp

Sure! ... how do I send a personal message?

They used to have peaches & cream flavoured Worthers candies... those were the good days.

Can you recommend a brand that works? I have purple acne scars on my face and they make me self-consciousness, but I would rather not wear heavy foundation every day.

Totally agree that it's weird and degrading.

And vintage fur is often made more carefully, I've noticed- another reason to wear it proudly.

I don't think vintage vs. new is the problem so much as sketchily sourced vs. responsibly sourced. I wear new fur, and I feel fine about it, because I get it from a small family business in Wisconsin that traps their animals in the wild and makes everything by hand. I know that the foxes lived nice lives, and I know

That line! It gets me right in the feels. I also love "maybe what we need now is a little guy." That's usually where the sobbing starts.

Did you recognize him? I couldn't tell it was the same actor at all! The makeup dept. and hair / beard people did a great job on that show.
