This. The only reason this story might have legs is that the Donald made an enemy of several powerful republican senators who would like nothing more than to get a palace coup going and put pence in charge. That however won’t happen so we should just move on to things we actually can prevent from happening.

Okay.

Yeah, I think it’s like a handicapped-accessible restroom, anyone’s free to use it until it’s needed by someone with a disability. Now if someone had come on the train and he’d refused to move...

That seat is fair game if there’s not a disabled person around.

As much as I dislike this effete grumble-fucker... unless there was a disabled passenger on the train... what’s the problem here?

I don’t know why you’re avoiding all the times you’ve been told that ambassadors are not necessarily wealthy people.

If being allowed to remain at a post past the innaguration is NOT special treatment, then why are requests to remain in place considered on a case-by-case basis? What is the review process for, if not to afford privilege to some but not all? If there is no special treatment, why not just allow ALL Ambassadors to

I did read the article. Some Ambassadors were expecting special treatment due to family or other circumstances. And that special treatment is not being extended.

Ambassadors know that their terms end when a new President is elected. They have plenty of time to make preparations. And they know that they are not guaranteed an extension because of family obligations.

Did the diplomats NOT KNOW that they served at the leisure of the President that appointed them at that their jobs did not carry over to the next administration?

Obama did something similar to Bush-era appointees, as have other Presidents-elect. Essentially the President-elect is telling them to leave their posts the day he takes over:

As an Army brat, I’m also rolling my eyes at this outrage-of-the-day.

Actually, you understand incorrectly. A friend of mine is one of these politically appointed ambassadors. An academic (specializing in the relevant country) with school-age kids and a spouse who hasn’t been able to continue to work in their host country, living on a government salary.

I don’t disagree. I moved back from Switzerland this past June with my family. We had no place to live for months. Trump is terrible, probably evil, but these families have incredible resources. It’s not like a military family uprooting every two years. I imagine these children of privilege will turn out okay in the

Correct me if I’m wrong, but haven’t they know for at least 4 years now that they were likely moving at the end of Obama’s term? Is this only an issue because most were planning on a Hillary victory and didn’t plan on losing their positions? Every one of these families can find an apartment or nice hotel in the same

These people got their jobs if I understand it correctly, by being wealthy and donating to a particular candidate. It’s not like they are destitute commoners.

Other stories that mattered more... Lets see here, thats pretty easy. Important stories that mattered more, like:

True. Can’t deny that. Everything you said is true. But...

WOW!!! You really got a lot of shit for stating that there is no conspiracy concerning Trumps wife waiting until summer to move to D.C. I’m baffled? Are there that many people on Jez that are so ButtHurt they resort to name calling? Either you’re being trolled or bitches are so angry they’re actually loosing their

Great job being mature while responding to childish ad hominem attacks.
