I’d expect they’d have a strong enough grasp of the local conditions to provide a sterile, oxygenated lobby for any visitors that might drop by for tea.

I think your nostalgia for the original is getting the best of you. It was one of the original popcorn blockbusters. The movie you saw because plot, continuity, reality and “soul” didn’t matter.
