I can get that. I feel the same about Adam and season four. I love season four because of the evolution of the characters becoming adults, and especially the transition of Willow and Xander into real people with complex emotions. Adam was kind of meh.. and I loathe Riley to this day. Like loooooathe.

Season 4 was week I think because of the tech plot, and how cheap the Intiative looked (but didn't all of Buffy look cheap until season 5?)
Also it came off the cusp of Season 3 which is beloved by many and Season 5 which had one of the better Big Bads of all the seasons (since The Master and The Mayor).
