Yeah, you know, maybe if I was a fucking congressman making a six figure salary, with a military husband, I would also be able to see my down's syndrome kid for his potential and not be bothered with the avalanche of lifelong medical bills and personal education and therapy.

If you were in high school now chances are your grades test scores would be higher. They did a redesign of the way SATs are scored sometime in the early 90's so a 1200 in 1989 is a "higher " score than a 1200 in 1999 or now(ignoring the writing section).

do not forget that Arizona was boycotted for refusing to sign on to the day as a federal holiday. They fought it tooth and nail. They only changed the law banning observance of the holiday when it looked like it would cost them hosting the Superbowl:

Life should reflect an idyllic 1950s television view of the world where teenagers work part time after school in burger shops and dad is the sole breadwinner at some place he goes to all day with his briefcase and mom stays home preparing delicious meals from scratch and everybody abstains from sex until they're ready

1) People in the USA want all the Northern European social stuff. The well maintained roads, good caring public schools, public transit, parks and rec, and access to healthcare. But people here are greedy as f*** and howl about taxes.

Debating which life is better is foolish. They are both a path that a life can take and both hold their own unique joys and sorrows. Why must everything be a competition? How hard is it to mind your own fucking business?

I completely agree. Being a mom gives my life a bigger purpose and has improved my life in so many ways. It's not for everyone but we shouldn't be shamed for choosing to go that route.

Oh Jesus Christ. That scenario is my biggest nightmare. My uncles had a child that was a "foster to adopt" situation. They had him for 6 months before it came to light that the state had not properly contacted relatives, who desperately wanted him in the family. Baby A was placed into the care of his grandparents, who

Everybody should be watching Shameless tonight and not Girls! You can watch the season 4 premiere on youtube!

Today I was at the Houston Zoo and I went to the "meet the keeper" talk at the chimp exhibit. I asked the lady what the chimps did for fun, and one of the things she mentioned was letting them play with an iPad. (yes, they have their own iPad, though I'm sure all time with it is supervised) They enjoy art and music

I tried to read The Fault in Our Stars, but couldn't. I knew where it was going, I knew what was going to happen, and it just tainted the entire fun/living part of the book. I just wanted to sob my head off.

Where'd You Go Bernadette was the most fun I had reading a book in a LONG time. It's my go-to recommendation for anyone who is looking for something really really good, but really really fun too.

Every one of my coworkers is on the Paleo diet. At least a dozen of them will lecture you on its benefits if you stop to talk to them in the hallways. Mysteriously, however, despite their zeal, leftover boxes of candies and holiday cookies left out in kitchen areas are magically emptying. Perhaps tiny unicorns are

Good grief. If you have kids, I hope it's with a partner with more sense than you. Perhaps someone who doesn't think watching blowjob scenes is age appropriate for a 5 year old.

Teenager does not equal five-year-old... apples and oranges

Madonna's just not a regular mom.

But then you would be in Texas!

Wait...you mean people are supposed to go to a location and pay attention to something other than themselves and enjoy an external experience? Hi I'm from America I don't think you've been here since 2000 but nobody talks to each other and direct eye contract is strictly discouraged. Talking to strangers? NOPE. You go

We are Injury Soulmates, my friend.

I'm black, female, make 90K base salary at my "day job," just turned 28, work in tech/media, and I own a couple small businesses on the side. I spent the last several years working in NYC. Dating was already hard enough, but at least there were large amount of interested men who could read and compose some sentences
