Yeah, I noticed that, too. Using slang in a recipe is kind of stupid. Gawker sites have never struck me as being really concerned about conveying information clearly to their readers.

I said "outside of a strict survival situation." Meaning: "in any situation BUT a strict survival situation." Look at it again. You read the exact opposite of what I wrote.
Interesting execution, but this is just a small camera that transmits wirelessly. We have those already.
Like I said: If you can pack an egg, you can pack a pot. If you're truly traveling light, you don't need either. In fact, outside of a strict survival situation, I'd pick the pot over the egg any time.
Thank you. If you're traveling light enough that you aren't carrying a metal pot/container to cook with, then you shouldn't be carrying eggs, either.
I call on Warren Buffett to buy this hurricane and make it go away. Do the noble thing, Warren.
Yeah; isn't it just unnecessarily complicated to say that asteroids had the proper environment to create these compounds when it's already believed that earth had equally good conditions?
I've never heard the alien theory. The theory I've always heard is that they were terrestrial symbiotes rather than aliens.
Yes, he has to run all upcoming races with the legs he qualified with.
If you don't have a cat, you can grow it easily in a window. In fact, it almost grows too fast. Makes a pretty flower if you let it get tall.
"I wouldn't want to live in West Texas right now. Why?"
Does the underground step serve a necessary purpose, or is it more to calm people's nerves about it? No sarcasm—I'd wonder why the water shouldn't be indistinguishable after the above-ground part of the process. After all, once you bring the salts and organics down to a certain concentration, what else is there to do?
I don't know the ins and outs of how police find these sites. I wouldn't agree with them shuttering 84000 sites just to catch ten, but is that what they did in this instance? Or is this newest story an example of them doing it more efficiently? I'm just trying to give the cops the benefit of the doubt (which I know…
I see it the same way. They found a site that was illegally providing copyrighted material, obtained a warrant to seize it, and then seized it. Then when the site argued they were violating the free speech rights of their users, a judge called bullshit. Correctly, I might add.
Ok, then, change it to 30 seconds. Point still stands.
All very true, although it's perfectly ok to find the whole deal just sort of sad without getting too fired up about it. At least, from our removed perspective. If you knew the victim, or lost a friend or loved one to such negligence, then by all means go berserk.
Not true. The blood pressure almost immediately drops to nothing and the brain would black out within a few seconds of that.
How was he being a douche? He didn't yell at the cop, he didn't insult him, and he complied with everything he was required to comply to in a polite fashion. Then he shook the cop's hand and walked away. A cop has a right to go check out a guy who is walking around with a gun, but only as long as he follows the law…
I was expecting it to look a little better than that. Needs what, maybe about 25000 more points to really bring out the details? I want it to look like a frikkin greyscale. Or at least show her face. And is it a single unbroken line? It seemed like he jumped around a lot.
I believe the concept is that impairment begins before you ever realize it, and before you ever actually do something wrong on the road. I have no problem with erring on the safe side in the way these laws are written.
