From the news just last week:
"One in 25 business leaders may be a psychopath, study finds
Psychopaths use charm and manipulation to achieve success in the workplace, according to a US study"

Dude, Charles Manson wrote one of the Beach Boys' songs, that's some pretty hardcore cultural fringe stuff. They just happened to be ridiculously radio-friendly.

Yeah, you can find the stun gun lying around in an apartment in Detroit somewhere.

The most interesting thing about Treasure Planet is comparing its numbers with another film that popped up that year:

Here in decadent Europe we rent then and return them right after.

Oh… Failed 13sies I guess?

And a few tracks in
And a few tracks in is a 3 minute silence. Is that just iTunes messing up or is there really such a strange throwback to the CD era of hidden tracks after long silences?

It has a very similar dialogue rhythm to "In Bruges", which is always a good thing. It's all filmed on location in the west so it makes the place look soggy and miserable, which is correct. And every character lambastes Dublin and Dubliners at any chance they get, which is also correct.

With the exception of American Psycho and perhaps a couple of others, the word American in the title of a film tends to be a nice signal that I can ignore it. It is a narcissism that you don't really see reflected in other countries that often, at least other democracies. Ahem.

This is Susudio, a great, great song…

One should note how extraordinary it is that a film on this event by a Chinese director, filmed in China under the auspices of its highly controlled editorial system, had ANY positive depictions of any Japanese characters. It's actually more of a given to have the card-carrying Nazi John Rabe in a

Also, I saw it on a Thor'sDay, as everyone should. When your character has a day of the week named after him, it's no longer a choice: it's a command.

The guy playing the Gatekeeper was my personal favorite. A great, stoic persona, great costume, and a really wonderful disembodied voice.

Not only is Fiancee a cylon, but in terms of dorky minor characters in science fiction show details, the campaign aide talking to Richmond in one of the first scenes of this episode, and Drexler the intimidatingly named billionaire, both play recurring roles as scientists in the underrated Stargate: Universe (I say

Plan B:

Worst poster in recent memory: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Hooray for the recycler! I've seen the film and did enjoy it, but I clicked because the picture features a foxy Asian-Canadian

The First Miyazaki film I saw
Hooray, I got a firstie on the review of the film that inspired me to pursue a career in animation filmmaking.
