@corpore-metal: He might if he debuted today. But in the 60s, when Arabic Supes came on the scene, the Arab world was somewhat more secular, so his being clean-shaven was probably fine(?)
@agentgray: Super Pedo?
@CommodoreRake: Hear, hear.
@Norseness: It's also the first story in the popular Oh My Fucking God A Killer Orangutan!! genre.
@lakedesire: I think a part of it is that, despite the 'sandbox' elements you're on a more focused mission in Fallout. One can play dozens of gratifying hours of oblivion without even worrying about the main quest.
@Adam Whitehead: Couldn't agree more.
Fantastic list. I'm 6 out of 10, but have put in enough time on Oblivion and the reprint trades to make up for the missing four.
@Franklin Harris: That *is* a fun fact! Crazy how many talented people were involved in that show...
Like everyone else, this was the main reason I watched Electric Company as a kid - though in a pinch I got my supes fix from Letterman instead...
@Billy_Miller: Ok, fair enough. I'll rephrase: "Well, this current cycle of godawful cannibalistic remakes has finally hit upon the project that promises the greatest drop in quality form source material to remake."
@collex: Touche! Though I guess I'd argue that the original LSOH film was a schlocky movie made into a witty musical - rather than a witty film made into a schlocky musical.
@Billy_Miller: I've been a part of the real world for a good long while now. But anyone paying attention can see that Hollywood's longstanding penchant for gobbling up and massacring every single old cartoon/tv show/movie/musical/comic/book etc. has reached a newly fevered & over reliant pitch over the past ten years…
Ahh jeez. So it's finally, truly official: nothing's sacred. Can't wait for this clever, consistently entertaining cartoon to be 'updated' with too-slick computer animation, fart jokes and 'witty' Justin Beiber references.
....aaaand Thundercats is now a trending topic on Twitter.
@Straelbora: Worked for me when I was 10!
@Xerendian: I've had that theme song stuck in my head for twenty-odd years.
The ST:NG opening is compelling enough that I once quit an awful phone sales job when I called one house and, last sraw, I could hear *they* were watching ST:NG while I was stuck harassing people on the phone for $ b/c I had someone else's shift forced on me. After that call I went to lunch and never came back :)
