That “small minority” is an all-volunteer work force that keeps Reddit functional. The mods go away, the site goes away. You have genuinely no idea how much free labor Reddit is just throwing out the window with this move.

“Now, please let all of the uber-entitled keyboard warriors eager to take up the cause of the week flame me below. Your rage fueled tirades will only serve to make me laugh.”
I like how you write your own tirade and then just immediately, preemptively shut down any possible response by dismissing them as written by…
Theres one little problem with this argument. The issue isn’t that Reddit wants to charge for it’s API, but that the amount they want to charge is astronomical and way higher than other websites such as Imgur, and the extremely short timeline they gave with pricing information.
This is awesome!
Uh, you know not buying the fucking games is a choice right?
I don’t think it’s that people are surprised by their pay when they get hired. It’s more that they can’t live with constant inflation without their pay increasing.
Given the company’s financial straits, falling market cap, and declining stock price, it is unsurprising that they would restructure their business operations and cancel unsuccessful ventures.
The Epic store has been around for a few years now and is STILL barebones. I HATE using their store.
That’s pretty much where I’m at. Mind you, I was deflated ages ago the moment they confirmed the return of weapon durability, as that was the one thing that would keep me from playing it at all.
Yep, this is where the weapon degradation system falls apart for me. It’s not the inconvenience of it, weapons are plentiful. It’s just that I don’t want my dope stuff to be fleeting.
Man, I’m pretty excited about this game but I hated the durability system in BotW and reading this article weirdly deflated me. Like, it’s cool that I can nab the best shield early in the game, but I know that it’s just going to sit in my inventory (or on a wall in my house if that’s still a thing in TotK) because I…
“Field recorder” is the name given to portable audio recorders designed to be used outside of the studio. It’s TV/Radio jargon. If you’re not in the studio, you’re out in the field.
I’m not seeing anything to suggest that $250M doesn’t include stocks and option compensation. The numbers I’m seeing seem to say that his actual cash salary is $3.1M, and then [on some years] far higher with other comp. Nothing close to $430M, or anything to suggest 100% of execs clear that much.
I mean, solidarity,…
Now you’ve done it! Tried so hard to forget that one!
All of your arguments are firmly rooted in the very short term and ignore several things. All of the things mentioned could happen without MS. They don’t need MS to bring blizzard games to steam or game pass. You are also assuming that they would add cross play. Finally you are making the assumption that all of…
MS doesn’t need Activision to be at the top of the cloud gaming market.
Or just start splitting things up. The problem with trying to stop mergers is in the current markets a merger is just a way of gaining scale and preventing them prevents an avenue of competition. You may not be able to stick the toothpaste back in the tube.
This guy gets it. People want to complain about the state of the video game industry and then cheer for their team when they pull some really despicable shit like this.
Counter Take: Who cares why?
These major mergers need to start being stopped and I don’t care if they start making up excuses to stop them. We have let big business break the system for how long now? Screw it, break it right back at em and we will sift through the wreckage in 50 years when the boomers are gone and the…
