Who cares if I’m cheating in my *single player only* game version? Who am I going to affect, beyond myself?

For some, there is an issue. Smaller, niche titles like Disgaea and SMT which are not prone to being in stock in local gaming stores after the launch.
Facts we only learned *afterwards*, it was not at all certain at the time.
You can't copyright a word. You're thinking Trademarks .
“The Cult of Kefka’s Tower is one of the most frustrating moments in Final Fantasy VI. Not only is it a trudge through some difficult fights, but it disables certain commands and creates an interesting, but restricting challenge. Sure, there’s some decent loot to be found, but is it worth the frustration?”
Path of Exile also makes you make a new character and no body complains there.

I call shenanigans - nearly every subreddit I was in that went dark had posts soliciting feedback and input on what should be done - whether to go dark, if so, how long and so on. The only one that didn’t made it clear that they were bootlickers for Spez and would do nothing, regardless of what people asked.
API change is affecting are a very loud, yet VERY small minority of Reddit users
