There is not one game that died from being always online. There are games that died from being bad, in which removing always online was meant to attract more players, in which case — the game was still bad.

If internet were fast and reliable enough; imagine the graphics you could get out of games that were being rendered by legit super computers.

You’re missing the special part here; the switch can’t run RE7 and rather than make a bad ugly port, they are going to stream it with max graphics. If your connection is good enough, you shouldn’t notice it’s not playing locally, and you can play games that DO NOT RUN on your console.
