Well, you can have Steam wherever you want, but the games always install where Steam is located. While in Origin, there's an option to change game's install location. Like I said, it's not perfect, but it works.

No, you understood me wrong. I meant multiple install locations for games through Steam. As in, installing Skyrim to my SSD but Plants vs. Zombies to my HDD, for example.

One thing EA is doing better than Steam:

Yeah, some concepts of DA2 were good, but the execution was so far I don't even want to be reminded that DA2 existed. There is absolutely no excuse to cut corners if you're BioWare, one of the biggest developers around; and if you're supported by EA, one of the biggest publishers around.
