@Mark Edward: It does make that fireplace channel they run over teh holidays make much more sense if the TV is below the mantle rather than above :P

It's definately a neat idea. The company I work for shares office space with a few other small companies (technically we sub-let to them), and we find it great to be able to utilize everyone's various strengths. We share knowledge, pass clients back & forth, work together as necessary, and in the end all of our

@corkdork: The only time I'd disagree with you on the vodka, is when drinking Cuban vodka. It's made from corn. It's disgusting. But of course, when on vacation in Cuba and drinking it like water, you don't quite realize just *how* disgusting it is until you have some Smirnoff on the plane home. I tell ya, cheap ol'

I actually try to discourage my cat from climbing up that high. If I made something like that, I'd never be able to keep her off the bookshelves and I wouldn't be able to own anything breakable ever again.

Yeah that'll work. You'll never be able to spend anything since stores don't accept anything larger than a $20 anymore.

@Fluffy654: Yeah, North Americans get screwed when it comes to cell phones. Canadians particularly do.

I was on Telus's pay as you go service for about 7 years. Included voicemail & call display. I topped it up with a $30 card every other month. For $3/mo (which was taken off my time), I got 30 outgoing SMS messages & unlimited incoming. It was more than fine for what I was using it for.

@t3knomanser: Wow, I'd love to be putting that much into my savings account each month! Unfortunately, if I did that I wouldn't get to eat :(

@zoomZAP: Unfortunately a lot of our clients are in rural areas & on dial-up. Dial-up users tend not to do windows updates cuz it'll take them like 7 years to download, so there are many out there still with IE5. It's too large a portion of our business to give up on.

Anyone know of a good standalone version of IE7? I no doubt will have clients refuse to upgrade and will still need to test on 7...and 6...ugh, and 5 :(

We had the ultimate DIY shelves when I was growing up; long pieces of fiberboard, with concrete blocks separating the shelves. Unfortunately it wasn't very pretty.

7. Turn down the thermostat on your water heater.

@Gigs: I would totally upmod that comment...if I could.

@Lazarus: Legacy Locker is scary! If that site ever gets compromised, you've just left a hacker with your online banking & email passwords. Not such a good idea. Passwords should be saved offline somewhere.

@tok3ninja: I still do :) Mine's f-locked though with only a few friends given access, so it's essentially a password protected diary anyway.

I love it! Will be implementing the next time my best friend comes for a visit to stop the phone calls of "I forget how to make the teevee work".

I've actually got several small emergency funds for things like car repairs & vet bills. My next goal is to start saving for possible unemployment. I don't have a specific monetary goal though; I save what I can afford to each month in a high interest savings account.

My system is fairly similar as well, although at work my archive folder is divided up by client. I stick to the "if you can do it in 2 mins, then do it" rule as well. Anything longer than that goes on my to do list, with the email flagged in my inbox. Once that task is complete, the email gets dealt with appropriately

I tend to do this for any photo with a high-ish ISO. Makes the graininess look like an intentional effect.

@JP: All analytics programs will show different numbers due to differences in how they measure data. Don't look at actual numbers, pay more attention to trends over time.
