I guess if you’ve had 21 movies to become a fan, and still havent, I dont think the FINAL movie should owe you anything. I think it would be a disservice to actual fans if they needed to explain everything.

Darker scenes hide VFX flaws. Thats why pretty much every CGI heavy movie in the early 2000s, things like fighting and superhero flicks had a lot of night scenes.
