From what I understand, the only clinically proven effective doses are in the hundreds of milligrams per day. Most products on the market, particularly candies and snacks, have like 5 mg per serving, so you’d have to consume enough to end up obese before you managed to reap any of the medicinal benefits.

There is - in the US, the 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the list of federal controlled substances, so while cannabis based products are still illegal, hemp-derived CBD is now legal for sale.
