Maybe that’s what actually happened behind the scene?

The prevalence of automatic transmission presents serious safety hazard; it encourages text and drive, drunk drive, inattentive driving etc. We should mandate manual non-synchronized gearbox; people won’t have time to text and drive when they have to double-clutch each shift; drunk drivers will have a hard time

so hilariously ostentatious that it became a joke, powerful, and constantly on the verge of being an absolute disaster.
