You’re asking a lot from the dumb ass general public...most who use it while intoxicated

In the Uber app, there’s a huge fucking WARNING that says surge pricing is in effect. I can’t recall if it specifies just how much impact it will have though, because most of my business travel is in shitholes where no one else cares to go.

Uber and Lyft both get to somewhat skirt the rules, but paying attention to the surge prices before even confirming a ride will eliminate the “I had no idea about the price” issue.

How is that acceptable by DOT standards? Can’t they mandate a fix in situations like this?
