You dont have to mod it, and “Put the work in to” refers to learning the finer points of the game that the tutorial and controls list wont tell you about. Remember, this isnt COD or Battlefield, you dont pop in and suck for a while, then find a crutch and ride it all out. You need to learn how to fight in this game.…

The flash indicates that the nearby screen has refreshed. Far easier to track them by walking with the nearby screen open, and seeing if your target is moving up the list or down it. The closer you are, the closer it will be to the top left.(or right side on the minimized nearby list)
