But...fortunately, no one asked you. So we did the series anyway.

I cannot believe it.....I cannot believe that my hometown was mentioned so prominently in a publication, no matter how old it is. I know this place, and I know the Pierre and Looney location in your other article. Both, in fact, are sad. Sad echoes of a place that peaked a long time ago, and that ‘peak’ was never

Thanks so much. Individual actions are fantastic, but we always must realize that even during Jim Crow segregation, there were kind, wonderful people of all races, even as the systemic racism existed. So today, as we hope to create the world where racial barriers don’t exist, we must always go beyond our individual

So that was your purpose for today? To post a stat about crime in a positive series about the black community? Did you kick some kitchens on the way to your computer? Here’s to you finding a better purpose. To waking up thinking that you can be a positive force and not a negative one.

I don’t know how to say this with real feeling/understanding, but the fact that a book by this name was needed is heartbreaking, and I strive to eradicate any remaining societal sentiment by my actions and through the ways I teach my children. But this project and concept is awesome. I love road trips blended with

Finally, a car magazine for men.

I’m so glad that, much like the recent Root cross-posting, we get to enjoy an extra-large heap of Jezebel in our Jalopnik posts.

I had never heard of the “Negro Travelers’ Green Book”, but just I started reading “Lovecraft Country”, which features a fictionalized version of the book. I got interested and read through the Wikipedia page. And then this series pops up.

are these articles cross-posted to jalopnik? whether they will or wont be, this reader wouldn’t mind if a few car photos made their way into the articles. looking forward to more of the road trip!

In b4 the tailpipe fuckers start in. People oughtta get over the horrid terror that comes from new ideas and read this series.

Well first, it isn’t racist. Second, it is about a person, driving across America in a fucking Mustang to learn about themselves and our country, sounds EXACTLY like something that should be on Jalopnik.

Just so you know...

Targeting somethign towards a demographic is not racist.

Specifically excluding a demographic is.

If the article said “white people cant’ read this”....that’d be racist.

What it is, though, is exploring black culture and, in its own way, black history.

Specifically as to why it’s on Jalop: Because it

To amuse you.

What’s your angle? Trips to Walmart and Branson? You’ve gotta learn how to pitch first before you can pretend to write an absurd article. There are rules to this writing thing...

Nope, I think TheRoot officially hates police brutality and violence, as we all should, right?

Well...if any of the groups you mentioned were subjected to the same violence and indignities while taking a trip in America to the extent that it required a document similar to the Negro Green Motorist Book, then yes it would be acceptable.

I think we see: the path to play a great Marvel character goes through playing Johnny Storm in a crappy movie.
