My dad had an olds Achieva scx back in 92. It had the 190hp quad 4 and spectacularly 90s teal paint. That quad 4 had almost as much power as it had nvh, but it was a fun car. Had a 5 speed and decently wide 225 tires on 14” 5 spoke wheels. He took it to Norway when he was transferred there and sold it to someone in

    I cant unsee this...

This car begs for bigger shoes to fill those wheel wells.

This is just a case of the color not matching the plastics. Paint that same car darker or a pearlescent red and you have a hit.

vandalize is a very generous interpretation of commissioning a talented spray can artist to paint on my car.

    Cars and coffee Hawaii

Haha Indeed, take my damn star..

I appreciate the humility and willingness to be the butt of the joke when really you are a competent engineer and writer. I enjoy following your adventures and wondering what if I were not 41 with 5 kids. Thanks Dave and Andrew

I didnt think it was possible to badge engineer a ford explorer into something desirable. Ive been proven wrong.

That is almost as annoying as people who say awdee

My 2015 Grand Cherokee SRT has logged 4.2 seconds to 60 and can do the same 155 mph. It has about the same horsepower and torque(+26hp and 30lbft) and weighs about a thousand pounds more at 5200 lbs. Now Im sure that it could out run me on a track, but its actually run of the mill fast version of a car performance.

Why am I so skeptical of the top speeds listed? Its like a bunch of 6th graders made up numbers. My Mustang went 260.8 mph. So WHAT- my Ford GT went 293.6 mph on the Texas mile!

CP. This engine is awful, and I have had the privilege of having one of these engines spectacularly failing at 75 mph on a highway. It made sure not only to throw a rod, but to also spray oil all over the windshield to blind me as well.

    Agreed

I generally agree with you template, but the choice in electric power is slightly disingenuous. You can “buy” only electric/green power, but the second the energy demand cannot be met, you may as well be paying for coal. In peak months, you can almost guarantee that the dirtyest coal fired plant is fired up and

    Those are porsche 296 wheels!

Thanks David. Now Im going to have to find one and do this...

The Chevy/GMC twins ugliness has been evolving with each generation. The K2XX Silverado with the stacked headlights was a really nice looking redesign that completely blew it when they did the mid cycle refresh with the garish LED eyebrows. The GMC wasn’t as nice looking but stayed more consistent through its

I seem to remember a *very* dated article that said something to the effect of If you wanted to build a 1970s era chevy that cost 5-6000 dollars it would cost you a large six(maybe even 7?) figure number of you were able to acquire each part and assemble it yourself. I think that estimate was even just based on the

this is my area of Houston- will be on the lookout, but I am thinking its not being daily driven by someone around town...
