It’s like when my uncle always seems to tell us when someone in his anecdotes is black. It’s never derogatory, but it sure makes me uncomfortable.

I read the headline too quickly and thought it said “ CDC Urges Vaccinated People to get Pregnant...”

Yes, but when will get a show that answers what happened last winter??

I mean, heck, even the trailer looked uneven. I desperately wanted to be excited about this movie because I love everyone involved in it, but after watching the trailer I felt indifferent.

100% agree with this post and with the ranking.
EWBAITE is a solid %3 in terms of albums.

I guess I’m the only one that really liked Everything Will Be Alright in the End. That’s probably my favorite album of theirs of the last decade or two.

The story and world it lives in are solid. The writing is... bad. Jordan is wordy and repeats the himself many times over the course of the books. Probably wasn’t as evident when there were years between each one, but reading them back to back highlights his cliched, repetitive style.
Some of the characters are great

Give me Doug you cowards!!

Exorcism of Emily Rose is an underrated movie.

As a parent of small kids, I can tell you that being forced to stay in a hotel room for a week with a 5 and 6 year old sounds like a punishment on its own. I do feel sorry for the kids though.

Reading about the upcoming show, I started re-listening to the audiobooks, which I hadn’t done in over a decade. Great action, story and mythology, but fairly terrible characterization and writing.

Michael Keaton talked about this a bit in his recent appearance on the podcast Conan Obrien Needs a Friend. Highly recommend.

The Song of Roland has all the good elements of a medieval romance.
El Cid could also stand to have a remake, though I don’t think the Green Knight’s style would work for it, since it is decidedly less magical.

Anyone who has read the graphic novels... just curious, how does it deal with trans issues? Or does it not mention them at all? I assume that (given the title), the disease that wipes out half of the world’s population is contingent on someone having a Y chromosome.
Obviously human biology hasn’t changed since the

Yeah, I think it is somewhere in the Constitution.

I friggin hate musicals, but I’ll be damned if I am not watching this the week it comes out.

I used to work for a hoighty toighty catering service that did a lot of personal house parties for the Boston upper crust. I remember one of the parties was a birthday party for some titan of industry type. The menu was decadent and fancy enough for the one percent crowd in attendance, but I remember that the birthday

They hooked me with John Cho, but now they are reeeeeeling me in.

It is the only kids show that frequently makes me laugh out loud. Repeat viewings aren’t annoying at all and I often find myself sitting down with my kids if I see that there is an episode I haven’t seen.

Bluey for the win. It is delightful.
