Looks interesting. Sadly it will probably b PC only and I prefer to do most of my gaming on consoles.

@Ladi: Depends on how fugly the editor created ones are. I tend to go with the default and tweak a few things since it is really easy create a weird looking character in BioWare's editor.
I like how BioWare isn't against roughing their female characters up and dressing them in role appropriate outfits instead of chain-mail bikinis. Not that Lady Hawke here wouldn't look nice in a chain-mail bikini.
Guess nobody at this developer watches MythBusters. Turns out that bullets don't do much underwater.
Who effing cares about Duke Nukem anymore? I would much rather Gearbox focus on more original IP or at least a Borderlands sequel.
Seriously have no idea. My dad got an Atari 2600 before he got me. Earliest game I can remember playing is Combat.
@lewisboy: Depends on how many DVD's you have of course. I'm using HandBrake with a Constant Quality setting of 60.78%. This causes the file size to vary a lot (between 1 gig and 2 gigs average but there are a few that end up being around 4 gigs for an average movie) but results in a more consistent picture quality…
@etho: IMHO Turok on the N64 was the first one to have really decent controls though there were one or two on the SNES that weren't horrible at the time. Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and a handful of other FPS's on the N64 followed up Turok as FPS's with decent controls (as long as you used the Turok style layout of…
@SinisterBill dances the Sheik Yerbouti Tango: Never really heard about vehicles in Tribes. As mainly a console player all I ever heard about as far as Tribes was concerned was that it had jetpacks.
I wish my entertainment center was like this because I have been planning on building a Hackintosh HTPC. I am thinking about hiding it a nearby closet though.
Note pad and a pen.
Sounds like the first Halo to me. It didn't really do anything completely new (though it was probably the first FPS to do vehicles well) but when you considered everything it did and how well it did most of it the game turned out to be oddly greater than the sum of its parts.
For graphic design and photo editing dual monitors is pretty much the minimum IMHO. It is nice having at least one large high resolution monitor for you canvas and another monitor (which can be smaller and lower resolution) for palettes. A third monitor can be handy for things like a secondary view of your work at a…
@seishino: Yea I know about Ken's past. By your logic they should have dropped the Bio and made a new name using Shock in it and this would have been much better IMHO. Giving homage to the past games while also letting the new game stand on its own two feet.
Depends on the game but usually first person. If it is a shooter, racer, or flight sim then first person for sure. Would really like to see more games try new stuff in first person though. Loved Mirror's Edge and Far Cry 2 for this reason. Both those games really put you in their world and made you feel like you had a…
No wonder Sega games are such crap these days, their employees waste all their time on awesome pranks.
I find it useful to prefix all my triggers with a special character. This lets me keep the trigger meaningful while not interfering with regular word usage. I use a ; character as my prefix because it should never appear at that position in a normal sentence.
After having a number of desks over the years I find that a simple large flat surface generally works the best. Desks with tiered levels and monitor pedestals might look nice but functionally they limit you.
Why even call this BioShock if the story isn't related to the story of the other BioShock games? Is BioShock just going to become the next nearly meaningless Final Fantasy-esque label for a series of FPS games set in weird cities where you can get super-human powers? Brand recognition FTL.
I hope this isn't true. I would much rather see Gearbox focus on original IP going forward. I know working on ports and stuff is what got them to the point that they could do games like Borderlands but now that they have proved they have what it takes to do decent original IP I think they should stick with it.
