I "plunged" 8 years ago.... never regret it for a day. In fact, every day I go to work and use a Windows machine, I'm still happy with my multiple Apple purchases over the years.

The main problem with the idea of an LED A-lamp is that LEDs are directional by nature. What that leads to is an A lamp that acts more like a PAR. They're not fit (yet) for decorative glass shades, or basic ceiling mounts, because, unless the socket is aimed down, you won't get any sort of downward light.
