Many years ago, I recall some malware that checked settings of popular AV software (i.e. Norton) to identify excluded directories, using that as a basis to determine where to extract its payload. For that reason, I've made sure to never add any excluded directories or file types.
@pplgoldblatt: I use Firefox Portable, and the default setting for browser.cache.disk.enable is 'true'.
@Mike_Flip: Dynamic RAM (-1) is actually the default value for memory capacity, so you don't need to add this preference if you're going to set -1.

@Ajh: My guess as to the cause of that phenomenon is the mentality of "I'm starting my diet today." This implies that caloric intake was too high yesterday, and it's decreasing drastically today.
@Ajh: There's a pretty big difference between starvation and reasonable calorie restriction.
@Ajh: Yes, I have had a problem with my weight; I've been underweight for most of my life. I have achieved and maintained a healthy weight for the last few years through regular anaerobic exercise and sustaining sufficient caloric intake.

Although not scientifically/statistically validated, this professor makes a good point with his experiment. People often claim that weight loss is extremely complicated and difficult. Weight loss is not complicated; it may be 'difficult', but the difficulty is only in preventing oneself from overeating.
