So, I definitely wasn’t a fan of the TLJ. Frankly, I strongly dislike all of the sequels. But I’m curious why people think that Rey being a nobody is a new, radical concept. Isn’t that the story of Anakin Skywalker? Slave from Tatooine, wasn’t he a nobody? Or does he not count, cause of the weird virgin/force birth

It’s like the movie is so beautiful that no one pays attention to the actual story. Or rather, they pay attention to half the story and ignore the other half that has Poe, Finn, and Rose working hard to get most of the Resistance killed.

Yeah but, but, but it is still a good movie!....Not!

“not to mention the original script for 9 where it is revealed that both the strict jedi order and the hatred fueled sith are just two sides of the same coin”

The thing is, this suggests the commercial isn’t from Wanda’s perspective. Up until now every ad seemed to be Wanda expressing some part of her past / inner psyche. And we know SWORD can see these, so that further supports the idea. The perspective you present says they’re being caused by someone else about someone

If you correctly see Pietro as a nefarious force in all of this, then you can’t take anything he said, especially “I heard you calling me,” at face value. He only showed up to interrupt Wanda and Vision from continuing to talk through what’s happening.

Wanda summoned Pietro.

The other nice vision moment this episode was Darcy thinking he’s saying “help me,” then us realizing that - despite the personal pain - he’s actually trying to say help them (the townspeople)

That’s not what I got from the commercial at all. It seems more like survivor’s guilt on Wanda’s part to me, especially since up until now all of the commercials have related to Wanda’s past and psychological state. I see it more like Wanda got magic where so many others who Hydra experimented on died. They could’t

My thought is this: they’re off-camera and not needed for the “sitcom”. Therefore, they aren’t needed until they are “on-camera” and are frozen in place until that time.

Yep!

That lovely shot of Vision rising into the night sky and surveying the town reminds me that he’s the closest thing the MCU has to a Superman.

It's interesting how this week's commercial implies that the people on the outskirts of town are wasting away towards death. Just as the kid stranded on the island can't open the yogurt and starves to death, the inactive people can't feed or care for themselves and are slowly dying.

I don’t get how the Sokovia Accords are still a thing considering all Cap and his team did in the fight against Thanos, not to mention it appeared they were allowed to live free in the 5 year time jump.

Yes! This was a hue misread. The whole point is Wanda can’t control her kids. They don’t sleep when she tries to make the do so. They don’t believe her when she decides it’s Monday now.

I was really fascinated the other day reading an interview with Olsen where she was talking about how she wanted to use indies and dramatic fare to jump into genre blockbusters as a big Star Wars nut. That’s usually the inverse of how the Young Hollywood Star works, for instance, the career chart of Jennifer Lawrence

This is probably what happened. Vision didn’t want to be weaponized and SWORD was clearly doing something with his body. She had to rescue his corpse and someone heard her pain. Kind of how in AoS Robbie Reyes begged for his life and a certain Ghost Rider showed up to give him a second chance.

A detail I haven’t seen mentioned elsewhere — when Wanda comes out and confronts SWORD, she’s wearing her Avenger tactical outfit instead of sitcom or regular clothes. That suggests she was wearing it when she arrived in Westview. In all of the movies she dresses normally when not on a mission.

TOP (dramatic pause) men.

Nice combo of summary and analysis.
